How do people from very different backgrounds and perspectives find common ground to discuss progress in any community? State Rep. Ruth Kagi and King County Councilmember Bob Ferguson discussed these topics at the first Shoreline Community Meeting of 2008 at Schirmer Auditorium on the Crista Ministries Campus.
Determining the principles for civil discourse is a critical component for us during the next 12-18 months as we work forward on a community-wide program we call the “Shoreline 2035 Program.” You’ll hear more about Shoreline 2035 in coming months.
Both Ruth and Bob are commonly known for their ability to talk and work with people from many sides of life. Far too often, people tend to see the negative in others, and that often sets up insurmountable barriers. At this meeting, Ruth and Bob talk about how they work cooperatively with others, and help to identify going-forward principles we can use to work with one another as a cooperative community.
